The San Francisco Giants announced Monday that beloved public address announcer Renel Brooks-Moon would not return to her role this upcoming season.
In a statement, the team said that the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension, and agreed to “mutually and amicably” split up. According to multiple reports though, including one from the San Francisco Chronicle, Brooks-Moon was interested in remaining with the team past the end of her contract in December. (The Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have different newsrooms.
