One of BYU’s captains was picked up shortly after the NFL draft ended as linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi was signed by the Indianapolis Colts. Kaufusi is the cousin of BYU alumni and NFL players Bronson and Corbin Kaufusi. He has 6 uncles and 11 cousins that have played in the NFL.
Kaufusi is a 6-foot-2, 220 pounds linebacker that was a multi-year starter for the Cougars. In 47 career games he tallied 204 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries and 4 forced fumbles. Kaufusi’s best year came as a senior in 2020 he racked up 83 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 1 touchdown.
